Fabio and Martha Saint-André, are invited to a wedding in Mars, in Nickel Port City. Earth lies in ruins, and all planets of the solar system are livable thanks to the providential intervention of the Orians, an advance people that lives in the Constellation of Orion. As they arrive they meet their hosts, Anaximandra and Cleopatra, the gorgeous Gloucester sisters, whom Fabio met years ago in Saturn. Sara is a girlfriend of the famous mercurian football player Mr. Sousa, whereas Tracy is marrying play-boy millionaire Sir Max Weyden. The wedding celebration ends abruptly with a gravimotor crash. As people leave the party, they discover the dead body of Cleopatra Baltimore hanging from a tree, and below her feet, the agonizing body of Mr. Sousa--inside his crashed gravimotor. Fabio gets the support of Mars agent Inspector Keiichi, who unveils the past of the main invited guests to the macabre wedding. They all have in common their support for Eleutheria, a pro-choice society. In order to get key information, Martha filters with Alfred--a dentistry student and Sara’s previous lover. She finds out that they both were students of Doctor Knox, a famous dentist recently accused of murdering hundreds of patients for several years.
